Anglo sent me my account details by email

After having a difficult time setting up the account. It took them 3 days to open the account and then lodging the money into the account on the 29th of last month. I received an email from dontreply at anglo with a pdf with all my personal details account number and money attached. whats more it also shows that this mail( generated on a sunday showed that my money would be put into the savings account on the following tuesday.

The transfer method was a bank draft from BOI but 7 days and public email is a bit IRISH
 
I too get emailed statements from Anglo but do not have a problem.

It is no different to banks posting out statements.
 
7 days for a bank draft is normal and I don't understand why people still have issues with email, it's a LOT more secure than getting details by post.

We SHOULD be able to get any info we request by email, none of this waiting around carry on.
 
I've been getting Anglo statements by email for a couple of years now, and have had no problems.

If i remember correctly you are asked on the application form whether you want to be contacted by email or not.

I gave them my email but said I didn't want them to send personal information via email. As in they can email me to ring them or whatever but not send my bank details etc.
 
I quite like the Anglo statements by email. Very handy. I wish more banks would offer this service.

You can contact Anglo and ask them to contact you by traditional post if you prefer and they will do it straight away. Was not sure what the OP meant by "public email"


I agree with other posters and see nothing wrong with getting statements by email, the email address and password is private to me. Not open like a postcard. If you are using an email system/password that you feel is not secure then of course you should change it, but that is not the fault of the anglo system
