Anglo Regular Saver

Hi,

We opened a regular save account with anglo last December09 to avail of a 1yr competetive interest rate. I thought I had read something here that the state guarantee on the bank would 'end' around July/August. Is that right? Should we continue to save with them until December as planned or should we be looking to move our money?

the 'deposits' guarantee was initially for 2yrs ending in October afaik but it certainly looks likely now that it will be continued indefinitely...well for next 5yrs possible, so no need to worry in the short term

The state guarantee ends on September 28th 2010.

The Irish govt have applied for an extension untill December 31st 2010 but the EU/EC have not yet approved it.

From September 28th 2010, as things currently stand, the first 100,000 EUR of deposits with Anglo are state guaranteed.

The Anglo account referred to above ends on December 31st 2010.
