Anglo a/c and government guarantee

Hi,

I have a fixed savings a/c (10,000) with Anglo already. If I open a demand savings a/c and put more than 10,000 in it, will only 20,000 of the total amount be covered under the gov. guarantee??

Is it not also the case that the government had raised the regular deposit guarantee to €100,000 rather than the €20,000 previously. So even after September 2010 this should be the case.

Yes, from September 2010 100,000 EUR will be protected as things currently stand
