Too right an utter disgrace....

Its an utter disgrace on the part of the mother!

If the appointment is so important to her son's health, and her son's health is so important to her, surely she can sort something out without running to the papers.

...and it begs the question; what point is The Cork News trying to make in running this story on its front page?

A slow news day in Cork, methinks.

Does she not have a friendly neighbour or family member that could drop her in, as far as the boundary to the security zone? Some people really rely on the Nanny State to wipe their noses for them

Hi PetrolHead. If you read through the article, you'll see that the only other person quoted, besides the mother, and who calls the situation "scandalous," is Jonathan O' Brien T.D. He's a Shinner.

Isn't it so ironic that he's complaining about the mother's lack of access to The Mercy because of the Queen's visit, when the reason that the area has to be cordoned off is because of the threat posed by some of his former fellow travellers!!!

By the way, is the Cork News one of those awful free papers you can pick up, during the week, around Town?

Could the Shinners not organise a taxi to drop her to where you referred to? And they could pay for it from the money they claim from the British Government for their abstentionist Westminster M.P.'s? ;)

I am sure the money from the Northern Bank raid in 2004 could easily cover a few cab fares !

Give the poor woman her 15 minutes of fame. Telly Bingo will be on in a few minutes and that will keep her happy

The Queen owes us an apology for giving us up too easily. The basic British prejudice was that we were not fit to rule ourselves. Oh, how right they were.:(
