An Post lost parcel

Hi, I received a docket from AN Post asking me to go to my local office to collect a parcel last week. I went down yesterday and they couldn't find it. Now today they rang me to say they cannot locate the item.

Has this ever happened anyone else?

What recourse is there or what action should i take?

(An Post were very unhelpful / bordering on useless and obviously dont care)

The parcel may have a track and trace number which would help them locate it.( if it was sent express or by registered post). CAll the delivery office (local office) again tomorrow in case the postman on your route had the item out for delivery again today when you called. If you are still having no joy, ring the customer services centre on 1850 57 58 59. They will help track it down for you..

Was the parcel from a compay or person? if it was from a company go back to them and tell them you haven't recieved it they won't have a POD as you won't have signed for it, they will have to send you a replacement and then make a claim to An Post for the lost item, if it doesn't turn up
