An ethical bank? or building society?

With NAMA, the Govt. is bolstering the balance sheets of banks which lent irresponsibly and which took part in the bonuses-for-rubbish scam.

Morally, that is wrong and if there are any ethical institutions out there which didn't get into trouble and which lent according to their proper means, then they will be put at a severe disadvantage by NAMA.

Are there any such good institutions? If there are, I would like to know about them, because the one thing citizens can do to oppose NAMA is to move our little nesteggs to those. If Govt. will not show moral backbone, we can. That is the only way we can ultimately change our society, by individuals doing the right thing.

PS I am aware of credit unions and have an account, but I am curious if there are small banks or building societies out there which are quietly gettng on with doing a good job and should be rewarded.

Irish Life and Permananent are not taking part in NAMA as they are not in much trouble.
