Am I sure to get JSA if I quit my job?

Hello,
I have been working in Ireland for 4 years, and now I am employed for 1 year and a half by the same company.
I would like to quit my job for medical reasons (that do not qualify for disability allowance).
I read that if you quit your job you could have no allowance for 9 weeks, but am I sure that after the 9 weeks I will qualify?
Should I go to Social Welfare and talk with them?

JSA is jobseekers allowance. Does your medical condition preclude you from seeking work?
