Hi all,please excuse my ignorace where all this is concerned.I am currently working for a basic net wage of €715.My weekly tax is roughly €36.I am on PRSI class A1 and paying nearly €52 weekly.Is this right?I have nearly €900 paid in the 14 weks of the companies financial year
It would be necessary to know the weekly gross amount you earn (rather than the net amount) in order to work out the correct PRSI and Health contribution.
If you can post that value there are many calculators which can be used to check- see mine at taxcalc.eu/monthlyss if you'd prefer to work it out yourself.
As per Towger's post for post April budget (effects kicked in from 1 May)- you'd have been paying €37.81 per week up until 30 April in PRSI and Health Contribution and this increased to €52.11 from 1 May onwards.
Hi Secman71,
Just to let you know , that by using the 'deadlyduck's ' brilliant calculator , this is what you are now paying in PRSI / levies from May 09 based on a gross income of € 715 per week .
PRSI = € 23.51 per week
Health Contribution = 28.60 per week
Income Levy = € 14.30 per week
