Hi,
I earn €3333 gross a month and saw to my horror that I paid €625 paye on my february pay check, is this correct or is something (hopefully) wrong? I am assessed as a single person. Any help would be much appreciated,
Thanks

Just for PAYE or PAYE and PRSI together? If just PAYE, then it sounds a bit too high:

2833.33 at 20% = 566.67 (cut off rate at 34000)
499.67 at 41% = 204.87
---------
771.54 Tax
minus 293.33 Tax Credits (Paye and Personal)
---------
Payable Tax 478.21

Hope that helps ..

Thanks Dsab,
The figure was for PAYE alone
I looked at my PAYE YTD which is €940
Perhaps the February figure was compensating for PAYE underpaid in Jan?

Yeah, that might be. The figures do add up then. Would check with payroll anyway.

This a profile of what you should be paying, if your tax credits are correct, taken from hookhead.com tax calc. :

Pay 3333,

tax 478

PRSI 111

Health Levy 67

For the year you would have credits of 3520, 9260 tax ( 5740 net tax) ,and the PRSI and Health Levy should bring it to a net pay after tax and PRSI and levy of 32124.
