am i legally entitled to a receipt upon payment

Hi,
I am attending a medical practitioner for ongoing treatment. Their policy is to issue receipts at the end of treatment. I would prefer to receive a receipt every time i hand over money so i can claim back immediately from my insurer.
Am i legally entitled to a receipt every time I pay or can they have a policy of not issuing receipts till the end of treatment?
I am 4 weeks into treatment of 6-8 sessions required.

As an aside, you can't immediately claim back money from your health insurer. Their normal policy is to pay at year end.

I get my money back from my insurer within 10 days of submitting my receipts

I am sure you can ask your doctor to issue you a receipt half way through.

It's a lot of paperwork to issue receipts for every visit, for you to submit multiple claims to your insurer, and for the insurer to process multiple claims.

They are reluctant to issue receipts mid way. I would prefer to get my money back straight away rather than wait till the end to save on paperwork. I don't mind the paper work and for the money i pay my practitioner and insurance company they shouldn't either I am just wondering what the legal position is on this.
