am i entitled

hi this is my first post, so hopefully it will work. i need some help and would be grateful for any, my story is, i am married with 3 kids , been housewife since spt 2005, (so believe i may be entitled to prsi credits for this time).
i was diagnosed in jan with arthritis of the spine, and as money is very tight at moment i wondered would i be entitled to any disability benefit ect.
i last worked in 1999, but would have yrs contributions before then, my husbnd is in full time employment (take home of €650 pw).
is it worth while sending in certs does any one have any info

Illness Benefit is based on your PRSI contributions so as you have not worked since 1999 it is unlikely you would qualify.

You would need 39 paid or credited contributions (13 must be paid) in 2006
or
26 paid contributions in 2006 and 26 paid contributions in 2005
