Am i entitled to rent allowance? :(

i was made redundant and moved out of my house and back to my parents, now the social welfare will only give me 38 euro a week because im living with my parents, but they cant afford to support me and are making me move out again, am i entitled to rent allowance and if i move out will i get the full amount of the social welfare every week? i am now jobless and almost homeless and completly broke an im only 20

You can only apply for Rent Supplement if you've been in private rented accommodation for 6 of the previous 12 months, or have been assessed as having a housing need by the local authority.

How did Social Welfare come to an amount of 38 euro.?

Are you eligible for Jobseekers Benefit?

I thought they were giving half this amount to younger people.

The rate for JB is 197 euro per week.

The full rate for JB is 204.30 euro per week, 100 euro for persons under 20. There are also reduced rates which are based on earnings.

It sounds as if the OP didn't qualify for JB, so has been means-tested on parental income for Jobseeker's Allowance.
