My workplace has a scheme whereby if you retire due to disability they pay me 475 euro per week (2 thirds of my pay). Am I able to apply for disability as well (I'm very doubtful). Michael.

G gipimann Registered User Messages 5,173 14 Dec 2015 #2 You may be eligible for illness benefit or invalidity pendion - both are based on your PRSI contribution history (and medical assessment). Disability allowance is means tested, so your pension from work would be assessed as means.
