Am I entitled to a FAS course??

Hope somebody can help me..... my son is disabled so I stay at home to look after him. I get a carers allowance which means I'm only allowed to leave the house for 15 hrs per week. I love my son but Im dying of bordom :( Am I entitled to do a FAS course?? Just a part-time one to fit in with the 15 hrs Im allowed.

Any info much appreciated.
 
The guidelines on Carer's allowance state that:

A Carer may attend an educational or training course or participate in voluntary or community based activity for 15 hours a week, provided they make adequate provision for the care of the person in their absence.

There's nothing specifically mentioned about FÁS courses.
 
A btei course might suit you either. Check which ones are running in your local vec.
