My sister has a house she rents and noted 2 windows at rear with gaps when closed- the windows i think are slightly 'bucked' as might have got caught in the wind- what should she do? she says rooms are cold are tenants have complained
Would it be possible to fix- house is 17 years old- or should she get 2 new windows
what would typical cost be- bedroom and ensuite windows- is it messy job?
I have the same problem with the two windows in bedrooms. Can you replace the padding seal with thicker stuff on the windows so that they seal when closed rather than replace the windows?
I used John Delahunt, Phone 4527934 or 086-8728521 who is the guy mentioned in the other posting. He is such a nice guy with reasonable prices. We had gaps when we closed and found out it was a problem with our hinges. When we replaced the hinges the problem dissapeared (John did this job). Our neighbours had the same problem but they replaced their windows, John was much cheaper!!!

Maybe it would help to oil the hinges. I did it with mine and it helped close the gaps. The hinges were getting stuck , bending and so the window wouldn't close properly.
