Aluminium reflective foil wall insulation

Has anybody used this type of insulation for block walls. It is used extensively in the States, although there it is for timber frame construction, and placed on the outside.

Provided in Ireland, where I assume it would be used as a form of dry-lining, by following: www.loweinsulation.ie

It is claimed that it gives very low u-values but would not require the same thickness as traditional insulations.

Anybody any experience or views?

Yes, I have heard that there is no mobile reception in rooms with foil backed insulation.

Same issue may be experienced if you have a wireless router for your broadband in the house.

Never did get proper certification, & decided against it.
