Aluminium Door

Hi have a question as regards Alimunium external door on house, the latch to close the door on mine is broken and i was wondering if you can just buy a new lock or if the whole door needs replacing now, just that someone told me the whole door would need to be replaced. We are renting this house at the moment and wouldn't mind just getting a new lock but replacing a whole door is somthing will have to get landlord to do

The landlord should have to sort this out anyway, whether its a new door or a new lock.

A new lock should sort it out.
