Can somebody point me in the right direction as to an alternative to wireless broadband. I will be taking up residence in the country where signals, both WB and cell phone are none and limited respectively.

Are there any satellite communications systems available for example ? I'm sure these these are pricey but I need to find what it will cost.

Anybody living in a "blackspot" have a solution?

Thanks

Well now I did a little research myself since everybody in Ireland was sleepng.

Found these to start:

Anybody using either of these or any other others?

I'm in NY with a move home coming up next year.

Thanks

We have satellite broadband in school provided by DigiWeb.

The speed is woeful. I'd be faster hand delivering it!

Even dial-up is faster. We had, at times, had to resort to dial up when we needed to access secured pages because the satellite would be so slow that the secured site would eventually kick us off!

If you haven't done so already, you should look at 'fixed wireless', this is a different technology from the usb modem thingy that is also called wireless, and is defo faster and more reliable. There are a number of regional providers (not sure if there is any nationwide) who sell this and its fairly reliable, permanet is one, there's another crowd in galway. I'm sure there are more.
