Looked at a Hyundai Santa fe diesel 08 manual at the weekend

I know the tax is a bit pricey.
OH is a bit wary of the size.
I think we can get used to it easy enough.
More impressed by the short drive than I expected.
Although annoying that the indicator stalk is on the wrong side.
We don't really need 7 seats but could be handy down the line.

A few alternatives
Obviously the X5 but kinda pricey and proper high road tax.
No too sure about any of the kia's ???

Honda again are pricey but

Don't like the nissans or the rav4

So the question is a decent suv about santa fe size a bit smaller?
Any owners out there with advice.

Hyundai ix35 is nice.
Qashqai + s has 7 seats.
Kia sportage new model since 11.
Vw tiguan nice, 5 seats.
I reckon u need to decide is 7seats vs 5 a dealbreaker

I would through the Kia Sorrento into that mix.

Was hoping to stick more to the 15k mark so some of the newer and high end metal is a bit above the budget.

Thanks for the suggestions guys I will keep scratching the head.

5 seats would be fine some of the so called 7 seaters look a bit dodgy the mitsu outlander for example.

drove a santa fe where the salesman reckon the car will get mid 50's mpg and explained despite being 4x2 it will send power to each wheel.

Not too impressed with the speel, probably won't go back there :)

Still impressed by the space in the car though.

The average of 95 owners' experience is 34mpg, with a range of 27-42mpg reported. That's a long ay off 50!

Sure is ! Friend of mine had one and was getting less than 30mpg though mostly he did short drives. He changed the Sante Fe because of the fuel consumption.
