Alternative to pensions

I'm looking for advise on saving for the future, I'm not in a position to do anything now but really don't want to got down the pension route if and when i can get started as I've lost a load in the past.

Is there some system where by you can save a small amount initially to get started? I see isa's advertised in the UK but not sure if these are available here.

ISA's not available here I'm afraid, Main advantage of Pensions is the tax reliefs, if at top rate every €100 into pension is costing you €59, if worried about performance pick something low risk or ow end of medium risk. Time is key.
