Hi

I have all the company IT hardware etc listed, itemised and serial numbered under all risks section of policy.

There was an extensive unplanned powercut a couple of days ago and one of the larger machines won't switch on since, our IT support co say motherboard gone and machine not repairable.

Do you think the all risks cover will pay for a replacment (about E 3K plus VAT)?

Theres a loss adjuster calling out later today.

thanks for any advice

Even a surge can only do so much damage to a modern machine,
They should have issued an itemised report detailing the faults discovered.

Is it a requirement of your insurance policy to have critical computers protected from surges, spikes and outages by running its power supply through a batter back up?

Components should be replaceable and your systems should be protected in future, for your own peace of mind if nothing else.

ONQ.

Thanks - protectors on servers etc yes but not on this machine and not mandatory on policy.

am arranging further diagnostics to assess best way forward.

thanks for your assistance.
