I see both aldi and lidl are selling sat nav systems this thursday (26th July 2007). I am going to France in a few weeks in a camper van and am going to buy one. But which is the best and are either worth buying. Heres the links to both and [broken link removed]
Does anybody have either of the two already and what do they think of them.Should I just pay €100 more and get one in Currys?

xtravision are selling ones for 169 euro.

The Aldi one has the Navtech maps which are the ones on the Garmin Satnavs, I have a Garmin and its very good.

Navteq maps are the best for Ireland in terms of detail , therefore Aldi system.

Be careful if you are using on the continent as most manufacturers basic models only have mapping included for Ireland and UK and you have to buy an expensive software upgrade to convert later. e.g. Garmin 300 is virtually the same machine as the 350 except for continental mapping.

Aldi is the better of the two on offer, mostly because of the quality of the included maps, which cover most of Europe. Seems very keenly priced.

4 hour battery life, so not great for pedestrians.
