airport shopping - ipod

I will be travelling to Europe a few times this summer on short trips. I was thinking of buying an ipod. Is there much of a discount with airport shopping in the euro zone? I have tried googling this kind of info - but not much luck.

Airport shops always seem overly expensive to me. They have a captive market and little or no competition in the airport. This is especially true in the EU where there's no duty-free shops (except in the Canaries as far as I know). I use CD prices as a benchmark. They always cost a fortune in the airports. I would expect you won't get much of a deal in an ipod.

Log on to the apple website to take note of the authorised price.

I have yet to see any authorised dealer sell them for less, though some may throw in extras for the same price, like a cover or an arm strap.

In general don't make big purchases in an airport without knowledge of the 'High Street' price - IMHO they'll fleece you.
