just trying to find out what is the position if a flight is cancelled due to a air traffic controllers strike? flying to the USA and just wondering what is the position if this happens do the airline have to put me up in a hotel until they can fly me out and pay for food etc. Was watching news the other night and a air traffic controller did mention they might strike because of pay cuts . have trip booked for july so want to be sure of my position
Thanks

Is this American air traffic controllers or Irish?

You should probably merge this with your other request. If Ireland, if the strike is already on there would be no need for you to leave your home so why would expenses arise? If you are in the US waiting to come home then I think they may have to cover expenses but US rules would apply I would think rather than the stronger EU rules.

Regulation 261 assistance and compensation. Airlines have a duty of care. Regulation applies to all airlines departing from an EU airport regardless of where the airline has its business address.
