Air lock Boiler/Cylinder Issues

Hi,

I have a problem in my apartment with hot water temperature. I have a gas boiler that seems to be heating the radiators as it should be (from what I have read already, they could probably do with some balancing to be fair...).

I have two pumped thermostatic showers that are fed from a hot water cylinder. The problem is that neither shower is getting hot water. The pressure is Ok but the water is always cold in spite of the gas heating being on for hours on end.

For two years this worked without any issues. With very limited knowledge, I think I'm dealing with an air lock somewhere but it's where the lock is that I'm not so sure about. I think its probably between the boiler and the cylinder but it's definitely fair to say that I'm a complete novice. The apartment is laid out over one floor so everything is at the one level.

I should also mention that the hot water cylinder heats the water just fine with the immersion on.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
