Air asia - long haul

Has anybody ever flown long haul with air asia...they fly london stanstead to kualar lumpar for a very good price (although luggage and meals are extra but still excellent price) and thinking of booking with them....any experiences?

We flew with Air Asia, within SE Asia (KL to Hanoi) last year. Absolutely no complaints. If I recall, their fleet of Airbuses is the youngest in the world.

No personal experience of Air Asia on long haul - I've flown their short haul within asia and it's fine (almost all the reviews on airline quality posted by breakdabank relate to their short haul operation) ... but not sure I'd want to be stuck with them for 13 hrs

Flew short haul with them in Thailand a few times recently, excellent except that the legroom was a little short in the non-hot seats. Flew london Singapore with Singapore airlines and everything was good, food, entertainment and legroom, especially on the doubledecker airbus.

Have flown short haul with them within Asia. Very good experience. A group of americans got fleeced in the queue before me for excess baggage ( i guess they didnt read the small print!). Open to correction but i believe they were started with the involvement of one or two ex-ryanair execs?
