AIB to Support SEPA Instant in 2025

Quicker transfers are finally coming to AIB. Good to see.

From 9 January 2025, you will be able to receive SEPA instant payments from other payment service providers in euro to your payment account(s), for example, to your current or credit card account.
Later in 2025, you will be able to send SEPA instant payments, and we'll tell you more about that closer to the time.

Not by choice. They have to do this. They have to implement receiving SEPA instant transfers by 9th of January at the latest so they are literally doing the bare minimum they are legally required to do. They have until 09/10/2025 to implement SEPA instant transfers so they will likely wait until then to do it.
