AIB One Year Fixed Term Reward Account - Any gotchas?

Hi,

Just spoke to the bank over fone, they told its Govt guaranteed, and a new product from "Anglo Irish Bank". With 3.95% AER this looks too good to be true, are there any gotchas that I'm not seeing?

I have around 15k that I'll not need for 1 year, I'm planning to put it in post office. Security being highest priority, if there are better options please advise.

Its AIB,read the T&Cs carefully is probably riddled with gotchas.

Thanks for pointing out the rate increase, I have updated the best buys. This is a new recent high for 1 year term deposits.

There are no major T&C's with this product provided you keep the money in the account for 1 year.

If security is your highest priority then why are you looking at AIB? Why not into the likes of Rabo, NUK or NIB?

Agreed. Neither the "post office savings" nor AIB can be regarded as the safest options if safety is your number criteria.
