Hello,
I have a question and would be greatful is someone can help.
I rang AIB this morning looking for the 2009 bank statement on my personal account since I need to look at an old transaction, but they told me that they cannot go back more than 7 years. After 7 years all the details of the bank accounts are deleted. I wonder if this is true ? I thought that the bank records were kept for more than 7 years ? I didn't mind to pay the 4€ / page but I really thought that they would keep them for at least 10 years by law. Is the 7 years rule valid just for the customers or if a solicitor or Revenue requests them they are indeed available for 10 years ?
Thanks
Frank
