If anybody out there is on an AIB variable rate mortgage could you tell me what the current interest rate is on your mortgage?

Thanks.

I was asking because I thought I was on a tracker mortgage with them (ie a slightly lower special rate) - indeed my statement for the last year received today does state "TRACKER MORTGAGE" on the printout, yet my interest rate is 3.45%.

I thought this sounded a little high.

Could it perhaps be due another drop next month after the interest rate cut last week?

As per their websitem Current AIB variable rate is 3.75% and it should go down to 3.25% when they pass on the latest ECB cut.
www.AIB.ie has a link to all their interest rates.

Paddy,

they may have varied their tracker offers from time to time so what you need to do to find out what tracher rate you are on as opposed to other people is to go to your original letter of loan offer and see whats on that.

Thanks for that.

As you say the current variable rate on their site is 3.75% (mine currently reading 3.45%).

So I assume that if they pass on the 0.5% rate cut last week I should end up at 2.95% ??? Lets hope so.

And PaddyW, if your question was aimed at me, no my statement does not say what the tracker rate is (ie something like ECB + xxx%).

As for the point that some people make about saving money in a recession, well my statement reads that I paid €4086 for the last tax year, and the projected amount I will pay in 2009/2010 will be €2700.

This is great news if I can keep my job and continue to pay off my mortgage every month.
