AIB monthly saver. Different rate on new accounts?

I am very annoyed with AIB.
I opened one of the up to 300euro a month savings accounts when my SSIA finished, offering 7%APR.
They are still advertising this account, now at 7.5%, so I assumed that was what I was getting - WRONG - I am getting 4.25%.
Smacks a bit of the Nationwide ad on telly about only offering the good rates to new customers.

You have to be constantly vigilant about changes in deposit account interest rates and chase the best deals as and when necessary.

There are better rates and higher caps on lodgements available elsewhere anyway. See the Financial Best Buys forum and www.itsyourmoney.ie best buy lists.
