Hello all,
I have an investment mortgage with AIB. Mortgage amount = 120000 approx, property value = 160000 approx.
I am currently on variable rate of 4.2%.
I note that on the AIB website they list a 1 year fixed buy to let mortgage with a rate of 3.49%.
Can I ask them to put me on to the lower fixed rate for 1 year? I reckon this would save me about 700EUR in the year. I would then revert back to the variable.
Is it as simple as writing to them asking to be switched or would it be more complicated? Is there any disadvantage to fixing for 1 year?
