AIB Current A/c - Withdrawing in N. Ireland

Hi Everyone,

I am going up north in a few weeks car searching. I am wondering can i withdraw cash in branch in First Trust Bank, Bank of Ireland or PTSB as i do not want to carry around thousands of pounds in cash. If not what is the best way for me to access my money. I would like to hear from other people who may have done this.

U got an ATM card? Are you simply asking if ATM cards work in NI - of course they do!

You can arrange to cash a cheque if you ask your bank to advise its NI branch before you go.

No i am asking can i withdraw over £6000 in branch in Northern Ireland or what is the best way to this? I dont have a cheque book....

no bank will give you €6k over the counter, unless by special arrangement. To make arrangements, you would want to speak with your local branch and they can make arrangements in NI.
