AIB Credit Card

Just paid for a holiday on AIB Credit card. Currency; dubai to euro exchange rate. They charged me over 7% of total sum, compared to the rates on xe. I know the bank has currency conversion charges, but this is surely an overcharge???

Depends on a number of factors.

No bank will give you what is quoted on xe.com Their rates are normally 2 to 3% less than the mid rates quoted online. Also AIB will charge from 1.75 to 3% commission.
Also the rate charged is the rate on the day of posting which may be several days after the transaction in Dubai.

I would call them and ask them to clarify the situation.
