Hi,

I was just told by a mortgage advisor that you need to pay the first two months mortgage repayments before the cashback will be paid by AIB. Has anyone else experienced this?

Can they show you where thats in writting.

My understanding is - you are entitled to cashback at point of drawdown.

From AIB's website -

"To help cover your costs, we’ll pay you €2,000 straight into the current account you use to pay your mortgage within two months of switching, even if that current account is with another bank."

She must have gotten her facts mixed up.

If you switched mortgage the next day they still must pay you the €2000 it is EU law, might take up to 2 months before you get the money but it will come even if you have switched again.
