Hi Guys,

Ive already been approved by Fingal and have just recently applied to Meath also, just waiting to hear back from them as to whether ive been approved etc.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with them, what are they like to deal with? Does the list move fast etc.

Any info greatly appreciated!

Re: Meath County Council

I applied 2 years ago.

Ive been offered apartments that are no good if you have kids. Thats all they seem to have is apartments they can't get rid of them. Bunch of chancers.

The whole system is a joke. I rang them 2 months ago asking them about houses again said they probably wouldn't have any coming up for another year.

Then they called me offering a house - not great at all - Im going to buy a bigger and better house on the open market for the same price.

There not great at all to deal with to be honest. I've got more information of this forum than they would ever tell me.

Thats just my experience with them good luck with the house hunting

Re: Meath County Council

I was offered a couple of dog box apartments in Navan about two years ago, they were tiny and on the ground floor facing traffic on the main road.

I drove past there two days ago and the unit's I was offered are still empty.

Re: Meath County Council

Cheers for the info guys! The only places i would consider in Meath would be Clonee or Dunboyne as i want to stay as close to the Dublin 15 area as possible.
Are they still trying to get rid of the apartments at Dunboyne castle does anybody know?

Re: Meath County Council

Wouldn't go with the affordable apartments in Dunboyne Castle, the 2 bed are available on the open market at €190,000.

Meath Co. Co. are a disaster.

Re: Meath County Council

Thanks for the info, im hoping to hold out for something in Dublin 15 with Fingal if possible!
