My husband was put on a 3 day week last year he earns 13.45per hour and makes about 250 per week. I work in the public sector and earn approx 450 per week. We have two kids and a mortgage, he claimed JSA for first year but his credits have run out now. Are we entitled to any other support?

Also should I transfer his tax credits to me?

Many thanks.

If those figures are gross figures, then your husband should be entitled to a small amount of Jobseekers Allowance, about 20 Euro or so.

Depending on how much tax, prsi etc. you are both paying out of those wages, you may be entitled to FIS, although not much, perhaps another 20 Euro. If you give us net figures, then someoen can work it out. If those are net figures, then you won't qualify.

You may also be entitled to a medical card if your mortgage payments are particularly high. Unfortunately you'll not be entitled to mortgage interest supplement as you are working full time.

In respect of Tax Credits & change in circumstances call the PAYE Revenue helpline and advise them of revised earnings. They will issue new tax certs to your respective employers to adjust tax allowances & you should be entitled to some relief which will be backdated. They are generally helpful. Call number depends on your location check link underneath for appropriate number:

Just for your information, Jobseekers Benefit that your husband has been receiving is considered taxable income.

Jobseekers Allowance and Family Income Supplement are not.

Thank you, they were net figures so I will try tax credits and see where I get
