Affordable in Dun Laoghaire- what is the situation with the draw?

Hi All!
Is anybody knows about situation with draw in Dun Laoghaire?
I applied more than 6 months ago, then I got a letter that invites me to a draw,
and new I have no news from them. I see, some people get invited for the interview,
what is going on? I am in a horror because I have to move from house that I rented
for 7 last years.

I applied as well and haven't heard anything, apparently there was about 2,000 applicants for 300 units.

Thanks for reply. I called them right new; they said that we need to
wait for 3- 4 more weeks.
I just wonted to know- is it just a draw or they are have an other group
of applicants- with a waiting list and queue? It is very little possibility to
get a house by lottery, I think.

Its a draw so if you come anywhere after 350 I'd say there wouldn't be much hope.

I contacted the co. council and they said the lottery will be held at the end of May / early June. Within a few days of the lottery being held, all applicants will be notified in writing of their place on the list.

I called them 10 days ago and they have not started yet. Strange...

On Friday 8th June 2007, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council held a draw to determine the order in which Applicants for affordable housing in the county will be assessed for the offer of an affordable home.

Almost 3,500 applications received by the closing date for the initial draw i.e. 10th April 2007 were included and will be notified of their place over the coming week.

i was luck to get 189 on the list but we have already bought so minus one off your number

Yeah I applied too but have already bought too. Although goin by the papers with Killiney etc it doesnt look too promising for DLR.

I wasn't lucky enough to be drawn in the top 250 places.
But I'm wondering how many people no longer interested in a property would bother to inform the council.

they do let the council know otherwise you might not get your deposit back that you pay the

I meant people who entered the draw for the new list(e.g. Niallm & bassface) but are no longer interested in a property. The letters were only issued yesterday and already the list is wrong. Apparently, we're sent an updated list every six months but it would be nice to have an accurate indication as to where I am on the list.

I got place 1053. So thats prob a three ro four year wait judging by how many units they have this year. Thank god I have gotten a property.

Will DR Co Co repeat the lottery process in 12 months i'm number 70 in the most recent lottery and ****ting it that they repeat the process before i've had an offer and end up back at the bottom of the list.

has anyone who faired better get an offer yet?
