Affordable Housing with Girlfriend

Hi,

I applied for an affordable home about 18 months ago on my own and was just offered one which is great but i now have a girlfriend and she is very likely going to move in with me at some stage. Do you think I should mention this to the council, i dont want to mess things up as i have been waiting so long for the house in the first place?? If we applied together we would still qualify but i dont want to go right back to the end of the list seeing as i am so close now.

If the idea is that she will move in with you "at some stage", and she will not be applying for the mortgage with you, I see no reason to tell the Council.
 
No the mortgage will be in my name and legally the house is mine but I wondered what would it be frowned upon seeing as i got the house but there would be two wages coming into the house.

You don't need to worry about it. Once you own the house it is entirely your business who lives in it so long as they are not formally paying you rent money.
