Affordable Housing with Fingal Co Co

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

Hi Taboo66:

Here is the answer to your question and I qoute:
§ Evidence of a savings record in the sum of €650 (for a single Application)/€750 (for a Joint Application) per month over a 3 month period prior to application. This level of savings must be maintained until Final Loan Approval issues. In the case of applicants living in the family home and paying “Keep”, this is not reckonable as part of a savings record.

Good Luck

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

Thats great thanks for that info. I have been reviewing loads of posts but no one has mentioned that how much i'd have to be saving. I actually thought i'd have to save more than that so quite happy now. Thanks

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

R.E Erris Square

I am also in the same boat - the figures given to us by fingal seem to be over market value by up to fourty thousand

Hello

It's great to hear someone else questioning this. I've decided to go with BOI. We tried EBS but found them very rushed and unprofessional. I just heard of a property in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown that was valued by the bank at a whopping €60k under the council's market value! I've ordered my bank valuation for Erris Square and will write to the council if it's a lot over. I did speak to the council today but they don't seem to take it very seriously. To be down 60k before you even move in seems like a very bad move to me. Will post how the valuation goes and would be really interested to hear how others get on. Second hand properties do seem to sell for a bit under market value when there are still new units being built in the same development - it shouldn't be to the tune of 60k though??

To put people into negative equity immediately seems really bad practice on the councils' part. Goes against the principle of affordable housing. They need to address it. We haven't are valuations done yet though so it all might fine?

Hello everyone. Im geting dis-heartened with this whole af housing in fingal. I am on the local list for malahide bayldoyle swords area. The only problem is that i think there are next to nothing around these areas. At the mo it seems like lusk or balbriggen are my only options. Does anyone know will there be anything in malahide bayldoyle swords area soon?

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

From the Housing Construction section of the Fingal CoCo website:

Other projects underway include:
* Minister’s Park, Lusk 27 units
* Dromheath Avenue Extension 23 units
* Kelly’s Bay, Skerries 16 units
* Roncalli Road, Sutton 20 units
* Pobalscoil Neasáin, Baldoyle 44 units
* Racecourse Common (Phase 1), Lusk 39 units
* Church Avenue, Blanchardstown 13 units
* Castlelands (Phase 1), Balbriggan 131 units

If anybody could elaborate on or has heard anything about these units, that'd be great..

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

Fingal aff in same boat as you from and living in Malahide, although I would be happy to go to Lusk.
I emailed Fingal about the properties Kara listed about 2/3 weeks ago and they said that they will become available but they "can't say when".

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

Cat123: I'm in the same position as you: from Malahide.
I hate the way people laugh at me for holding out for my own area. It's like I have less right to want to stay in my own town because it is perceived to be a rich area! I wonder why there is nothing in the Casino development - all developments are supposed to be 20% s&a. I presume the developer did some deals to get out of it!

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

I know what you mean. People seem to think you should take what you get. I think 'I'm paying about €200,000 for this, it's not like I'm getting a house for a grand!!'

Cat123- "Can't say when." Grr.

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

Purpeller - Oo I wonder do we know one another?If affordable ever comes through we could be neighbours! Casino development v strange seems to be aimed at rental market? Developers can pay fingal off rather than build houses legally which Id say happens a lot in Malahide/Portmarnock etc area.
Kara - Grr is right!

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

please keep us informed today if anyone gets a call to view balbriggan. I hate this wait..

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

Do they call to tell you that you are not eligible, or do you just hear from them if you are?

they call you to arrange a veiwing

this is after you are eligibilty is checked and you are entitled and it is your turn in the list

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

hi, anyone know the average waiting time for the builder to come back to do your snag? Waiting 2 months got told by Fingal " other people are waiting much longer" i.e. stop complaining!

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal

Hi Mlouisa, Is it Lusk Village you are talking about?

Re: Affordable Housing with Fingal
