Folks,

got a call from Dun Laoghaire Rathdown there the other day, telling me that i need to go and get mortgage in principal offer. as they are reviewing my application, i was trying to get some information out of her, to where i could possible get a placement or how much i would need.

she said that there is places in Sandyford i think the cube and i need to find 300k. 300k isn't really affordable.

has anyone else recently got a call?

i can only get a mortgage for 255k going to send that in and see what they come back with

Re: Affrodable Housing - Sandford - Mortgage Approval

Just send in whatever you get approval for. EBS will always give more than Bank of Ireland. If you can't afford the 300k for BSQ you'll eventually be offered something else I think. Though quite a few people seem to have passed on BSQ or not been able to afford them. I'm guessing eventually that so many will have been in this bracket that there won't be enough units to offer them alternatives? Just guessing.

Hi Dshakey,

I got that call too about a week and half ago and they mentioned BSQ and Beechwood Court. However i have to agree with you that 300k isnt really affordable especially if you are single! I know they are "affordable" compared to the MV but still......
I mentioned it to DLRCC that i wouldnt be able to afford 300k let alone get mortgage approval for it and she just said that you would then have to use your savings and perhaps "gifts" from family.
So i decided to put my name on the SDCC which i prob should have done before but at least its done know and hopefully i will get somewhere soon. SDCC were asking if i was interested in apts in citywest that they have on the AHI but i felt it was a bit too far out for me.

Update:
got a mortgage for 255k from simplymortgage brokers,
anyway got called for an interview with the affordable housing crowd next week,
has anyway been talked for one of theses?
