could anyone please tell me what actually happens at these open days??i know it sounds like a stupid question but can u actually put a deposit on a house or can u just view them and express an intrest if u like them??
Well with fingal if you liked a house you put your name down on the one you like ( assuming no one whos ahead of you on the panel wants the same one ).
Deposit then to be paid within a few days .
We went to an Open Day in the Cork County Council building last year. There were flyers for some developments pinned up and some members of staff around to answer any questions. You could express interest in properties also, but that was it.
usually the open days are advertised on the local papers..the city council website..and also on the official AH website...there was one last sunday for the new AH development in the glen in cork city...very nice houses
We got a letter sent to us from COCO, with the time and date to attend. When we arrived they tried to offer us an apartment but I was pregnant with our baby so we explained that wasnt viable for us. After that, there was very little else for us there to look at!
so they wouldnt offer you anything else if u didnt take the one they had offered you???thats a joke!!!so the council want to handpick the applicants...handpick the prices...and also handpick the house you potentially buy to live in????blood boiling here...all i want is a home for myself and my son!!!!
I know it very aggrevating. Im the exact same, just want a house to settle in and call my own. I really thought they would be a lot more helpful.... hopefully now that they are left with so many empty units they may get a bit more accomodating.
We did, we can get mortgage approval alright but our issue is with the high deposit that is needed on the open market. We have the 3% but not the 8%. If we were to continue saving we could be talking another 3 yrs before we could even comtemplate getting a house. We are paying off our wedding loan also!
