Affordable housing Marsfield contract problem..help needed

Hi Rondon

I too am buying in Marrsfield but my property is built and ready and just got good news today that a price reduction is lookin pretty positive! But anyway back to your deposit, I put my holding deposit of 3k down which is refundable now a month or 2 later contracts arrived in solicitors and I signed adding the remaining 5k to it and they stated I was in a binding contract and was non refundable. But a good few months later I was thinking of pulling out and a friend of a friend knows somebody in DCC and they had a chat with me and said " I could look into getting your deposit back the contracts have'nt been sent over yet so would possibly be able to get it back".

Now I never pulled out but what Im saying is if its early days get cracking on it has you possibly might have a better chance. I would also say you have a good case with the way the property has gone. If you state that your aware building is on hold in Marrsfield (which might I add it is and thats straight from a builders mouth that works in Marrsfield) and you need a home and cant be expected to wait. Start looking into it now and talk to solicitor. I reckon you might have a chance. Good Luck!

hi rondon

all the advice dub456 has given you is very solid and trustworthy. if i were you, i would viist the site and ask to speak to the site foreman as i was told plans for that block you have put a deposit on is on hold and maybe started in january 09 but that is not definite. there is nothing happening in your part of the site there yet!! i was told it kind of depends on the other units being sold before they start on that block!!

the maintenance feels will be at least 1700 plus per year for a two bed. if i have to pull out, by golly gosh then i will fight tooth and nail for that 8 grand back so hold tough if it comes to that!!
