Has anywon got any feedback on the Dunlaoghaire Rathdown lottery? I understand DL Co Co carried out a draw to assign the order that AF housing applications would be processed.

I came number 72 in the lottery and I would be interested to know if any applicants who were more fortunate have received formal offers of a property.

I'm concerned that they will hold a draw before they reach my number on the list. Perhaps other bloggers have been through the DR Co Co process and have words of wisdom which they would like to share.

€300k 3 bed pad in Dunlaoghaire would be the bizz.

Hello there

Dun Laoghaire Co Co said they are going to start by processing Thornwood in Booterstown. Does anyone know where you can get hold of general information on what affordable will be coming onstream in the council?

I got a reasonable spot on one of the local lists but have already been offered somewhere in Blanchardstown. Would prefer to stay where I've grown up. Question is whether to take the gamble to wait or not?

Does anyone know what way Dun Laoghaire allocate properties? Are you down to the bottom of the list if you turn down the first one you're offered?

Hi Cheeus,

We are already moving in the right direction. By reading your blog i have just learned that they are: "processing Thornwood in Booterstown".

I'm of the view that we all have titbits of info on the DR CO CO process and if we pool our knowledge as a group we are likley to learn a lot more about the DR CO CO system.

If you want info on Thornwood you should drop into the DR CO CO offices and visit the planning department the planning file for the development will be available to the public and u should be able to get info on affordable units by viewing the Thornwood planning file.

any idea what application number they are presently processing?

Dun Laoghaire is really only starting this affordable housing thing now. They did say that in the first year they plan to have about 300/350 properties to give out. So if you are in the first 350 you have the best chance of getting a property. If its anything over that you will prob be waiting more than a year. If you are willing to accept the risk that you might not get a property for a year or maybe a lot longer then wait it out. If you want to get on the property ladder asap then I would go with the first affordable housing offer.

Wasnt it in the paper recently that the planned affordable homes for Killiney was rejected by every councillor bar one. So I dont think Dun Laoghaire looks too promising for people after 300/350 on the Dun Laoghaire list.

Hello

Thanks for the reply.
It's my understanding that if you are in the top 350 of the general county list you are only eligible for a two thirds of properties coming up. (you'd be on county and general area list) other third would go to local list. So if you're number 350 on the list you mightn't get one until they have 700 properties available. Odds are better in reality as some won't qualify and others will drop out.

I'm trying to work that 1/3 lark out. I have lived in the Dublin City Council area for the past five years and never lived in Dun Laoghaire. So I'm in the bottom third of the class no matter where I came in the lottery.

DR CO CO tell me that they are not making any offers at the moment as all houses are in the pipeline and none have been handed over.

DR CO CO LOTTO WINNER WILL HAVE TO WAIT A LONG TIME BY THE SOUNDS OF THINGS. The rest of us are screwed!

Bring on NEGATIVE EQUITY and a PROPERTY CRASH so we can go it alone and buy a gaff
.

haha if only you knew what that would do to our economy lol dont say **** like that man.
