Hi
just wondered had anybody been offered a property from dcc
the draw has taken place and been posted last week and this week
a girl that works with me was called last friday to say she had got picked for house in kilshane in finglas
anybody know anymore about this ?

Thanks

Haven't heard anything yet. A girl I work with rang today, they will not give out information over the phone, but she was told that they are continuing to phone people with offers. They are not phoning everybody on same day as they don't want to be swamped.
Good Luck everyone

Greetings,
I wonder whether anyone knows the time scale of the affordable housing with DCC, by this I mean from the time you have been informed by staff of DCC of a place been assigned to you by phone to the date of closing date (keys to the premises obtained). Thanks in advance.

I was informed at the beginning of February and they're saying I should be in there between mid-May and mid-June.

Brooklyn,
Was the property you are about to purcahse from the November 06 draw?
Did you receive a letter of provisional offer and managed to view the property in question?
Thanks.

No, it was from the May 06 draw! Apparently they had a few problems with the developer so the draw for that property was delayed ... I did get the letter and get to see the property shortly after the phone call...

Hi Brooklyn,
Congratulations on getting an offer.
Which development did you get drawn for. I got letter last August/September saying that I wasn't successful in any draws. Then in December I got an offer of Timbermills, Which I refused. Do you know if you got a cancellation? Just living in Hope!
Did they contact you by post or phone to say you were successful?

It was Smithfield. I also got that rejection letter in September and then I got a phone call in early February. They said that the person it had been offered to had pulled out, but there appears to also have been a problem with the developer which delayed the process (I was told this by someone who works in a Dublin TD's office - not by the council). Apparently all the units in that development are gone now, but I don't know about any of the others from the May 06 draw.

It's such a complicated process and there are so many pitfalls along the way - those Net Disposable Income guidelines they give you in the application newsletter are nowhere near a reliable indicator of the kind of financial commitment you'll have to make - that I would imagine a lot of people who are initially successful in the lottery end up having to withdraw before the sale is concluded. So I would be reasonably optimistic that even if you haven't heard anything yet, you still might be in with a shout. Of course the other side of that is that being drawn for the property is only the first step and there are still many other hurdles you could fall at ....
