Hey,

Have recently had surgery on my leg and am still on crutches and also experiencing stiffness in my leg. I am due to fly to Orlando on Thursday and was just wondering if it is possible to reserve a bulk head seat in advance. I know that these are usually kept for people with young children but given the nature of my circumstances what do you reckon my chances are ???

These are often booked out weeks in advance. I'd call them now to see if they can help you.

Just logon to the Aer Lingus website with your details and reserve the seat you need, maybe for an additional charge. I had a look at your flight and the bulk head seats appear to be available on Thursday.

I thought you only had to pay for seat reservations on AL within Europe and to Dubai?

I have tried to prebook exits/bulkheads for a San Francisco flight but was unable to. I rang them too to ask.

One tip I was told once was never tell them you have an injury as they might deem you to be unfit to sit at an exit. They might think you would not react quickly enough if there was an emergency.

Looking at the map, if it was the front row your were looking at, these are business class seats - and AL charge €150/€250 each way in economy for these as there is no business class on the Orlando route. Might be worth paying for if the discomfort is severe - it's a long flight.

I think they might be right???

Tried to reserve these seats online with no luck so rang Aer Lingus to enquire about pre booking them. I have been informed that a. it is not possible to pre book bulk head seats and b. it is also not possible to pay an additional charge for these seats. The advice given to me was to check in early and hope that they can accomodate my request. So it looks like an early start for us tomorrow and no matter what way it goes I have 3 weeks of Florida ahead of me so I won't be complaining too much.

Have a brilliant time and best of luck with the seat reservations
