I know that this has been asked before but I can't find the answer.

Booked flight for two people this afternoon. Price was €140 for outward journey when I first checked.
When I went to book, it had gone up to €170. I made the booking as I was afraid that it would go up even more.
I have checked again and now found that it is back to €140.
I rang the helpdesk and must that that they were not very helpful. It was strange that her price still showed €170, whereas my screen showed €140.
Nevertheless, she said that a refund was not possible once a booking had been made.
I am sure that I read that a booking could be re-made at lower price within 24 hours.
Hope somebody can help !

I am afraid you are out of luck regarding changing your booking, Is it possible that your fare read €140 on the front screen, but when you clicked this there was more than one flight that day to your destination and you then selected the €170 one?

Try ringing again and ask if there is a 24 hour cooling off period of sorts before the card transaction is processed.

Worked for my friend. She then cancelled and rebooked at the lower price instantly.

This sort of thing happens all the time on Ryanair. You see a price, then you check it again and it has increased so the automatic instinct is to book before it goes up any more. Then you check again and it has reduced in price. It happened to me last year and I rang a helpline (!) and got through to a drone at the other end. Having explained what had happened she replied: "Well, that's gas" and proceeded to tell me that she was only there for the day and didn't really know anything about what I was referring to.

Hi Mizenhead.

There was only one flight per day and it was €140 before I booked.
It has gone back up to €170 again so not much I can do !
The lady on the helpdesk was not any help at all.
Pity because I know that this has been answered before.
Flight is on Wednesday so it was likely to go up anyway.

Are you Mad. If you think Aer Lingus will do any of their customers a favour you are living in dream world. The best thing you could do in my opinion is to find another Airline to take you.

Aerlingus track what searches are being done and adjust the price accordingly based on the searches. I was looking at some tickets to LAX a while back at about 1am. The price had jumped €150 in 30 mins when I checked again. 24 hours later the prices were back to their previous low level.

Do you mean searches from your particular computer for example? If so your experience is hardly proof of this theory.

I know it happened to me with Aer Lingus that I was getting quotes for a flight, I only put in one adult passenger. However, when I went to book for 4 adults the price was gone up.

Maybe there was only one seat left in that price bracket, but surely I should have been offered one seat at the lower price and the other three at the higher price?

To give the benefit of the doubt, maybe someone else bought the seat at around the same time.
