Aer Arann+no refunds

Ok here goes,was working in London for the last 3 months got laid off,had bought a ticket home for weekend with aer arann £220,when I first got the job employer paid for car on ferry[return] so now I have to get it home,tried to change air ticket for use in the future but they want £42 off me to do so!!!!!,what can i do I paid by credit card and cant afford to lose the money or the ticket.Help.

in fairness, they offer a fully flexible fair when booking, not that you knew you were going to need it.

think you are looking at a situation of using or losing. Airlines are pretty stuck at the mo. I'd start looking for a cheap flight alternative.
