Aer Arann Cabin Baggage

Just wondering if someone can help me please? I know Aer Arann have a generous baggage allowance. I was wondering though if the 7kg cabin baggage includes a lady's handbag? I'm just wondering if I can bring a couple of things in a small backpack as well as my handbag, or will my handbag count as cabin baggage?
Also, can you pool your baggage allowances with them? So if my husband's bag weighs 10kg and mine weighs 20kg, is that okay as it equals 30kg which is the same as 15kg each? Flying tomorrow so any speedy answers very welcomed!

Thanks! Just realised my suitcase weighs half the baggage allowance so am transferring all my stuff to a holdall!

My parents use aer arann a lot and they are very decent about luggage. You can check in a bag at no extra cost. There over head bins are quite small so I think that's why they do it.
