Advice required please

Hi All,

I have a lump sum deposit of 30k which I am looking to invest. I would like to put 20k in a secure investment/bank a/c and would be williing to invest the rest in a more risky investment. I have a mortgage which I fixed for 5 years with 3 years left so I am looking to invest for that time frame (3 years) and then pay some more off my mortgage. I happy with my mortgage at present as I am looking to change job and dont want to change my payment as I may have to take a pay cut initally. Any advice would be appreciated.
